Five

Christ died for my sins... 5 words, I can say them in under 5 seconds, none of the words are more then 6 letters long, Yet it would take me an eternity of constant meditation to comprehend the true meaning.

I am a flower quickly fadeing here today and gone tomorrow, a wave tossed in the ocean... a vapor in the wind, still you hear me when I'm calling, Lord you catch me when I'm falling and you told me who I am. I am yours

Coretta Scott King

http://articles.news.aol.com/news/article.adp?id=20060131072109990010

This is a link to an AOL news Article about Coretta Scott King, the widow of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr who died this morning in her sleep recovering from a stoke/ heart attack she suffered last august. I found this interesting that she would pass away so close to martin Luther king Jr day. I also find it interesting that the star of "Its a Wonderful Life,' a popular Christmas story, passed away this past Christmas Eve day. Life can be ironic like that.....

in other news..... today, Jan. 31 2006, Samuel Anthony Alito Jr. was sworn in as the nation's 110th Supreme Court justice.

Some pretty pictures from Camp Cherith of Western New York

well I got back from my Math A test a little while ago.... It went well but they give you a ridiculous amount of time to do it and you have to stay in the testing room until the time is up.... So I was just sitting around getting a headache for about an hour after I finished. But it was kinda funny, me and Alex have this friend who sits with us in lunch, he is really smart and he is in calculus already even though he is only a sophomore. He lived in north Carolina last year so ended up having to take Math A with us cause you need to pass it in order to graduate in new York.
so here we are taking this test with this kid who is like 3 year's ahead of us in math!!! But its okay cause no one was overly challenged.

I am stealing this idea from Adam even though its "copyrighted". I mostly want to do this cause he was bashing one of the best movies in the world and I want to bash a movie that he likes....

Here is what I think of War of the Worlds...

Depressing Moment: When the son leaves for absolutely no good reason
Happiest Scene: when the mom drops the kids off
interesting Scene: the lighting strike
Boring Scene: the cellar with the crazy
Exciting Scene: lighting strike
Emotional Scene: when he realizes what the dust all over him is
Expected Scene that happened: when the guy they take the car from gets zapped
Scene that was overdone: in the cellar
disappointing scene: when the son leaves
Amusing Scene: when Tom Cruise throws the base ball through the window
Lamest Scene: the reunion with family
Best Phrase of the movie: I don't remember exact quotes but it's when the little girl was like"he just left, he left and he took your car"
Best Character: Dakota Fleming
Worst character: Tom Cruise
Movie rating from me: out of a hundred..... 5.7
Words of advice: stick to the book a little more please!! Less blood and gore, rising and settling action instead of nonstop violence. Really stupid ending. Again less blood and gore

the moral of this story is that movie opinions are widely differing and everybody's entitled to their own opinions

that was fun......

My Entire Childhood is CRASHING down

That's right folk everything I once counted as fact is now crumbling into lies..... *tear tear* if one thing that you believed turns out to be false you really start to questioning everything.....

it all started yesterday....

we did our first drama/mime team meeting yesterday when all of a sudden Kate Osborn told us that our darling Girl kitty was actually a boy. My whole view of the cat change, all of a sudden the things that seemed once cute and funny now seemed stupid and annoying... That animal STEALS MY SOXS and it is a BOY. I was disgusted. In other news we finally have a name for it...... I know, its about time right... We've had it for like 4 months now...... But yeah its a very manly name to make up for all the time calling it a Girl...... His name is Brutus... As in Julius Caesar.. "E TU brute?". But yeah back to the whole child hood crashing in thing, I figured I could handlethe cat being a boy as long as I still had some things to hold on to, for example the tooth fairy.... But this to turned out to be a LYE.

it happened like this, my little sister lost a tooth yesterday...(she lost the tooth down the drain but mom said the tooth fairy would forgive her)... And so when she went to bed she eagerly awaited the arrival of a plesent surpise in the morning. i also went to bed, i had not been lying there for long when i heard the door to our room open... i just assumed it was my sister jessica who had not gone to bed yet but low and behold I heard jessica's voice from down stairs... meaning it was not jessica who had just entered our room. i turned around in my bed to see my mom placing money under my sisters pillow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how could this be! It thought to myself..... This is impossible. I almost cried right there, I really had to fight to keep the tears back. And then my mother noticed me watching and smiled and waved her hands around as if they were wings... She was symbolizing fairy wings!!!..... I could have barfed! I fell back into bed and started to reconsider my whole life.......... It didn't take long but in the end I realized that some how I have to remember that through all this treachery I must remember that life is like an apple!

Guess what!

To all those who were wondering ... *cough cough* Mattea Jane Wilbur *cough cough*...... Here is what I found out as far as the whole raining Cats and Dogs phrase goes....

Raining cats and dogs: If the rain is teeming down the it's said to be raining cats and dogs. This seems to be an odd way of describing weather. The expression first appeared in print in 1653.("It shall rain.....Dogs and polecats"). There are three possible origins,

1. This goes back to Norse times. In old Norse weather lore the cat was related to rain and the dog to the wind. If this were the origin then it is likely that the words would have appeared in print before 1653.

2. The second suggestion puts the basis in the Greek word Catadupa, "cataract" or "waterfall".

3.The final idea suggests that the drainage of medieval streets was so poor that cats and dogs frequently drowned during a heavy downpour. Swift's "Description of a City Shower" (1710) gives a good idea of what it was like. It's worth repeating.... "Now, from all parts the swelling kennels flow/ And bear their trophies with them as they go/..../ Drown'd puppies, stinking sprats, all drench'd in mud/ Dead cats and turnip tops, come tumbling down the flood.

I guess I have to leave you all to make your own decisions as to what it means in your own little world... But don't worry if this question is perplexing you as much as it is perplexing me you just have to remember that life is like an apple then you will be okay

ahhh home again

Man do I miss church, felt like I haven't been at church in like ages!!! Can't wait for next week!!!! Well I figured out that this coming Sunday will be my first Sunday service with out the catalites... kinda weird I know cause they left in December but its true. And its going to be my last one with out cassie!!!! Camp was soooo fun!!! We got to go tubing at this ski place called Swain... A little scary at first but totally fun after the intitial fear..... We're getting e-mailed pictures later so I'll post them later. Man there were so many fun and funny moments that happened in such a short time. Me and Shannon got to talk and catch up laugh together. But yeah, on Saturday night we went to bed at like 11:30 and I was sitting in bed and all of a sudden I hear somebody start snoring, so I sorta hold my breath to hear who it is and it stops..... A few seconds later I find out that it was actually me breathing really heavy..... Oh man it fills me with joy but I totally miss church a lot!!! Can't wait till this summer when I get to go to camp again.... By the way it was actually really creepy being in camp during the winter... I mean its a place I've gone like 1 week out of every year since I was like 3 and have only ever seen in the summer.... What a shock.... You don't even know, It makes the woods look so much smaller when you can see through them because they don't have any leaves... But its still as beautiful as ever, just in a different way.

Ahhh Corning......

Got to love this weather we are having..... Walking home from the bus today it was summer out side.... Nice and warm and sunny.... ahhh, the sun still shines in winter. It is kind bazaar though, January with June weather. So yeah,I am currently preparing for the math A regents, technically I've been preparing for it for a year and a half now. I am very much at ease, that is my nerves are not vexing me in the least. In fact I find myself quite prepared for this examination (weird huh!) but yes my first high school semester is drawing to a close, which means I am 1/8 done with high school!! Hallelujah!

:)

Jessica and I got home yesterday at about 9:00. We had a great trip, we got lost a couple times but the bright side is it only added to the fun and gave us even more memories, not to mention the fact that we will never again miss the Lansdale Exit when going from West Chester to Souderton on the Pennsylvania turnpike. It was great to see Amanda and her family and surprise the Michelle Smith with an over night (or should i say all-night) visit from Jess. Our time with Amanda was great, it was like only yesterday we had seen her last.

our (empty) plate of fried ice cream from El Cactus when we went out for dinner with Amanda.

Tomorrow is almost over!!!

yesterday is over
today is practically over
and tomorrow is almost gone.
only by Gods grace are we going to draw a single breath tomorrow.
so make tomorrow's yesterday as good as you want tomorrow to be.
because yesterday might have been your last yesterday
and today is almost over

I wrote that little blurb in English for a creative writting project
I guess its kinda a poem type thing

tomorrow is almost over and I am totally ready for Thursday to come!! My heart aches to see my sister Amanda (sometimes more so then other times) but soon I'm going to be able to give her a great big hug!!!

life is like an apple
