Five
Christ died for my sins... 5 words, I can say them in under 5 seconds, none of the words are more then 6 letters long, Yet it would take me an eternity of constant meditation to comprehend the true meaning.

Thanksgiving!!!
Well, I'm off to Pennsylvania to eat some turkey!!! And then visit Amanda's family and church, its all so exciting!!!! Last night was so exciting, it snowed, and we (Amanda, Jessica, Alex, and I ) went ice skating from 8 to 9:30 then we walked a little ways down market street and to the walking bridge.... Then we were frozen and we decided to go home and drink hot coco with lots of marshmallows... Yummy. As we were skating around the rink I found myself staring at all the snow, it was awesome, all I could think about was Gods amazing power as I saw these millions of snowflakes journeying to the ground, to see them swirl around and collide with my sisters jacket. It took my breath away more then once last night. And then to think of all the changing seasons just filled me with joy!!! Only an hour and a half until we get going and then its cousin time!!! Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!

Sneeze question
I found myself again confronted with a question that I believed need to be answered. This time the question was "why do we say God Bless You to someone after they sneeze?" again I asked many people and again the answers were all different. Some people thought that it was because your heart stopped for a brief moment while others thought it had something to do with your soul. Well I looked it up..... Drum roll please........
“Have you ever wondered why we say “God bless You” when someone sneezes? They say it dates back to primitive times when early people believed the soul dwelt inside the head, and a sneeze was an expelling of evil spirits. Therefore, a “God bless you” was an exclamation that God had expelled the bad spirits from you. A more accepted theory is that it began in the sixth century. Carlo Signonio, the Italian historian, believes that the practice of saying “God bless you” after a sneeze began during the pontificate of Gregory the Great. At this period a virulent pestilence raged in Italy which proved fatal to those who sneezed. The Pope, therefore, ordered prayers to be said against it, accompanied by signs of the cross. It was during this era that the custom of crying “God bless you!” to persons who sneezed became definitely established. The phrase, or benediction, is still in general use. [Lillian Eichler The Customs of Mankind ]
Interesting huh...... kinda makes you wonder why in the world we are still saying it today, perhaps its just polite.
hope you enjoyed

Life Between Sundays
As look at my blog I realize that I haven't posted any thing since last Sunday, and as it is fast approaching a new Sunday I figured I would write a little bit about my week. As Jane Austin would say, this week was full of "busy nothingness with many meaningful happenings and admirable qualities." this week just sort of floated by with little surprises in store every day and fun events to make me smile, and to top it all off it snowed yesterday and it is now thanksgiving break! A whole week of no school and no homework!
let me think... What happened on Monday.... I think that Amanda watched the return of the jedi for the first time... But that might have been Tuesday, I'm not sure. She bought a star wars tee shirt to! That was really exciting, she really surprised us there! Now she is officially a star wars geek just like all the other Rawleighs.
Wednesday was care group! Very cool, the teen boook study had its first meeting! That was a lot of fun and I can't wait for our next meeting. We had alot of people there! Its is so amazing to see how much God is growing our small church.
on Thursday, school was starting to get long and dreadfully hard to bear as our vacation was approaching. Thursdays lunch period marked a very bizarre experience for me, on that day November 17th 2005 we ate lunch with the principal and my Spanish teacher. Very odd I know, they came into the cafeteria and had lunch with us because I got a hundred on my report card, let me tell you, that was one of the strangest thing ever! There was many awkward moment of silence but over all it was an okay experience, or at leat better then I had foreseen. We also went for the fisrt time ever to the new starbucks in the crystal city bakery!!! Very very exciting.
Friday was a very eventful day, west high issued its first report card of the school year, I'm pleased to say that I'm failing every subject :) just kidding my grades are fine. The I went GO teaming with Jessie, Amanda, cassia, Alex, and Adam. After wards the boys picked up chic and we came to our house at like ten to watch Madagascar. It was a pretty funny movie, but not as good as finding nemo. we watched a bunch of the special features and stuff so they didn't end up leaving until like 12:30. Then I went ot sleep , woke up at 7:30, went down stairs, and sat down on the couch, went back to sleep and didn't get up till 8. Then we cleaned the house.
it was a good week, I can't really remember what happened the fisrt couple of days though.....
oh yea one more thing,
"-If you swallow gum, will it take seven years to digest it?
Uh, no, said Shelly Bergh, a physician's assistant at Rappahannock Gastroenterology Associates.
"It's no different than swallowing a big lump of chewy caramel," said Bergh.
That, too, will wend its way through your digestive tract with everything else you consumed that day."
I have been searching for many days wondering that question (I asked a lot of people and got varying answers, I even asked the pricipal)I now I finally got the sense to look it up online

Bowling is like an apple
Sunny blue skies when my clouds been gray
glass of cold water on a real hot day
hot coco in a mug when its cold outside
like change for the bus when you got no ride
let me tell you bout a friend who will always be around
when your head hangs so low feel it draggin on the ground...
I say one two what should I do if it hurts just to walk with a hole in my shoe!
oh yeah! I love that song!
the fall fest went great this weekend! God really moved, and then the guest sevice was amazing it is always refreshing to hear the gospel, to be reminded again of God's amazing grace and mercy! Jessica is doing her Sunday performance of "Always... Patsy Clien" right now, she is doing great this is her third performance and she still has 2 to go.amanda is watching the show right now, we went as a family on opening night. Then we went to friendlies and had ice cream, when we got back it was 11:30 and I went strait to bed because I had to wake up early the next morning. So at 5:45 my brother woke me and by 7:15 we were out the door with Amanda on our way to the fall fest to set up. After the fall fest we had Andrew and matte Wilbur over for a while and then jess went to her performance. When I woke up this morning a bunch of jessica's friends from camp were here. They saw jessica's play and then stayed over so they could go to church this morning.
I hope the efthimious are having fun in Hawaii!!!

The Bus!!!
today was really fun! I was a little tired starting out... Either that or just bored, I almost fell asleep in math.... I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions :) actually, the bus ride home was the best part of my day!! That is not to say tht the rest of my day stunk cause it didn't, in fact most of the day rocked, it's just that the bus ride home was totally cool! But you'll have to ask me about that some other time!! This weekended was exciting, we had the kemmerers over and we discovered just how much fun that can be!!! We went to the watkins glen gorge on saturday and ate at analogue for dinner (i think we had a liitle too much fun there) then yesterday we went and saw the west high play (alot of fun... it was a murder mystery) and then me and amanda watched Drumline and ate cheese cake (or should I say pudding cake) and eventually drifted off to bed.

East vs West
I would like to set the record straight as far as the east-west games for the past many years, you see I am a new student at west and the facts are widely differentiating , the facts I give you are documented..... or at least they were in the corning leader so I am pretty sure! West has not won an east-west football game since.... Drum roll please..... 1995! and apparently we had a pretty amazing streak going on in the 80's. So tonight east faces west for the second time this year for a chance at state finals or something.... As for our record in lacross... it is very humbling to admit that i also looked that up and simply put... last year east won it 89th strait victory over west;(
