Bad News: Someone ate all the pizza!
Now you may be wondering, what pizza? Where is the pizza? Who ate the pizza? You may be enraged that they didn't share the pizza... And with tears in my eyes and butterflies in my stomach I will share this awful news about the pizza. Where is the pizza? About 3 billion miles away. Who ate the pizza? Over 2000 scientists in Prague today. What is the pizza? The pizza is Pluto. And that's right folks the sad news is that we can no longer use the mnemonic "My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas," because sadly today the International Astronomical Union stripped Pluto of the planetary status it has held since its discovery in 1930. That's right folks everything we learned in school was wrong... Well at least the stuff about Pluto... Because Pluto is no longer a planet.
This morning I knew that by sunset our solar system could be considered very differently. Today the vote could have gone 2 ways, either leaving us with twelve planets or 8. And the latter was chosen.
And so now this frozen sphere orbiting the sun that is smaller then our own moon, is a dwarf. I'll let this shocking news sink in... Feel free to talk about your feelings by leaving a comment... Terribly sorry.
Just a side note... This vote has terrible effects on astrology... :)

I have nothing to say about the post except that I'm glad you posted... and I like pizza!
I was pretty suprised this morning when I heard that Pluot was only a dwarf planet now....funny that they just said "Ok,today lets make pluto a dwarf planet today!".
It's a hard life without pizza though...

Hahaha, awsome post! I was on the edge of my seat wondering what had happened to the pizza (well, metaphoricaly at least) and then you so brilliantly transfered our suspense about the pizza to our dismayed disbelief about Pluto. And then, at the end you tie it in to the ryme so beautifuly [sniff] it made me want to cry (perhaps that's a slight overstatement).
At any rate, I thought it was great!
PS. My Mom went to Staples the other day and there were several teachers there for a teachers special, and they were complaining about having to re-teach everything!

Pluto...You know I think that was my favorite planet...
But what do the teacher have to re-teach? I mean all they have to say is that the big science guys (I resisted the temptation to day "geeks") decided that it wasn't a planet anymore.
And that's that.

Okay, okay, these aren't great reasons, but reasons none the less. Thanks for making sure Jess took care of Natalie. I would have been nervous to leave her alone. ;)
